Behavior Gap TV: The Underground Society of REAL Financial Planners

http://www.vimeo.com/3960307

I want to let you in on a little secret: there are good, honest, ethical financial planners in the world.

One of my fundamental beliefs is that everyone should have a financial planner in their lives, but finding a good one can be a challenge. However, just because it’s a challenge doesn’t mean they don’t exist. These guys and gals aren’t terribily terribly concerned with marketing, but with providing great, unbiased advice to their clients.

I don’t have a magic bullet, but I hope we can provide some guidance over the next few months on how to find a good financial planner. Financial planners who can have a good impact in your life do exist.

Ha - had a great prospective client meeting this morning in which we had to overcome HUGE obstacles left in the wake of previous financial planners. The client had zero trust with planners. I wish I could have sent him this video in advance. After 90 minutes, he seems to trust us and we look forward to a great relationship - but man, it was an effort to get him there.
  • Interesting post. I have stumbled this for my friends. Hope others find it as interesting as I did.

Thank you! As a Financial Professional it feels like an uphill battle everyday to counteract the stigma we have acquired based on the Madoffs and other unscrupulous "advisors" out there. There IS hope, and we ARE out there. We may be quieter than others, and yes we often DO have smaller marketing budgets, but we are truly looking out for our clients.
  • Your welcome.
  • I cleaned out my cache and it's working now. Apologies for the fuss!
  • It could just be my PC but I can't watch the video past 1:02. It freezes there.

    Might be worth checking! :)
  • Thanks for sending out the message Carl. Nicely done.
