Like a Space Shuttle Flight

I have heard the space shuttle is off course over 90% of the time.

They start by charting a flight plan, kind of like drawing a line from point A to point B. But in reality they are hardly ever on that line. The moment they launch they have to deal with things that they did not (and could not) plan for.

What becomes really important at that point is the constant need to make slight course corrections.

Designing a financial plan is important, selection of the investments you will use is also important, BUT the moment you walk out the door your plan will be outdated. At that point the key issues is making sure that you make the slight course corrections that will prevent you from drifting so far off that you can’t make it back.

It is not about having a PLAN, it is about having a PLANNER.
